On an Island in Paris

In the very heart of Paris, there is a peaceful square called Place Dauphine. People come here to read, relax and find a moment of calm. Cafe terraces face a small garden of pink flowered trees. It is hard to believe this tranquil place is located right between two of the biggest tourist draws in the city, Notre Dame and the Louvre. Paris has so many wonderful green spaces, and I love walking through this square whenever I have a chance. I am a firm believer that being near nature is good for the soul, even if it is only for a few moments.

Postcards from Positano

I am back in Paris after a tranquil and refreshing week on the Amalfi Coast. We stayed in an amazing villa with a beautiful view of the sea, no wifi, and I actually spent the week away from email and working (for the most part!). It was reminiscent of youthful summers with long days, family dinners, and no obligations. We sailed to Capri, swam in the refreshing turquoise waters, and watched the sunset every night. There are many photos to share, but I wanted to first show you a little set from my favorite town on the coast, Positano.

Rue Cremieux

Hidden within a sea of white Haussmann buildings is one quiet, yet rebellious street. Rue Crémieux is the most playful place in Paris. Houses quaint as can be line the street, each one more colorful than the last. Bicycles and plants adorn the pastel facades. For a moment you can escape the hustle of Paris and feel like you have been transported to Notting Hill, or an Italy dreamscape.

A Garden in the Sky

Coulée verte René-Dumont, is the original "High-Line" in the sky. A nearly 5 km long elevated walkway built on an old railroad track where nature meets picture perfect french rooftops. Throw in a bottle of wine and a few sweets and it is my dream place.
